FAQ's ~ Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Why does this kit cost $349 when the LCD is only $99? (subject to change)
A. Because it includes the  Panasonic EDMGRB8KJF LCD, CNT-EV-PCI EarthVision/PCI ($180 List), 5055 touch controller (dynapro compatible) cable adapter board, LCD flex cable, inverter, and EarthVision 18" ribbon cable.
Q. Can I use this for Video?
A. No the number of colors(256) an screen response time (300ms) is unacceptable for video.
Q. How about Photographs?
A. Depending on your software yes. This type of display is used in electronic picture frames. Usually the jpeg images have dithering in them. Unmodified images and different viewing software will have different results.
Q. Can I use this in my Car?
A. NO. Unless you don't want video and your car is going to be inside for show use only. This screen is about 80 nits and we recommend at least 200 nits for car use because of the high ambient light (sunlight!)
Q. How long will this product be available?
A. Since we have about 100,000 of this display we expect two years and there are a host of companies that make similar displays (Sharp, Hitachi, Panasonic, Kyocera) in sizes from 7.5 to 7.7 inch. The key is leave your packaging and LCD mounting flexible. Also we will offer a similar  XL Xtended Life product version when we run out.
Q. What computers and operating systems will this kit work with?
A. Any modern PC with an open PCI slot. DOS and all windows versions have been tested.
Q. How does the touchscreen work?
A. The Dynapro touch drivers will work under all windows operating systems. The touch controller is compatible with the Dynapro SC3 controller. The driver under windows replaces the mouse so most software is already touch compatible if it used the mouse!
Q. Will you have an analog VGA controller for this LCD?
A. Yes it is a little more expensive than this solution.
